LÄNSI-LAPIN AMMATTI-INSTITUUTTI

Restaurant unit of Länsi-Lapin ammatti-intituutti is involved in improving the use of local raw materials.

Students of restaurant course are taking part of the product development made in the educational institute. Cook students Ilari Kesti and Ilari Laaksonen succeeded victoriously in Pohjankokki-competition in the year 2001 making portions from recently developed Lambkin of Meri-Lappi.

LÄNSI-LAPIN AMMATTI-INSTITUUTTI/
Unit of fishing industry, Simo

Educational unit of Simo works as an expert in product development of fish refinements. The product development of rainbow trout refinements is practiced in institute’s experimental kitchen cooperation with fish breeders, the institute and experts of the food industry (hostesses, chefs). Fish refinements get their flavor from locally produced aromatic herbs.  

Also an outlet of local fishes is operating in premises of the institute.
